Ever since moving to Zhanjiang, finding good western food has become a favourite pass time. We search for everything from steak to cheesecake. We go to the supermarket in hopes of making a good find. We have tried many different foods and restaurants that serve Western cuisine. We quite enjoy eating good, savourywestern food, but some of the food we miss the most is sweet food.

  自从来到湛江,我们最开心的休闲时光就是四处搜罗美味的西式食品。我们寻寻觅觅,从牛排到芝士蛋糕。我们搜索超市的每个角落,我们尝遍每个西式餐厅,只为那一口美食。我们很喜欢湛江美味又开胃的西式食品,然而最让我们心心念念的还是甜品。

  Many people in the west enjoy sweet food. It is quite common to eat dessert after dinner and there are a variety of different foods that we enjoy eating for it. Some of our favorites are cheesecake, ice cream, chocolate, and cookies.

  在西方社会,人们大多喜欢吃甜品,并且饭后享用甜品是很常见的生活方式。我们喜欢各种各样的甜品,特别是芝士蛋糕,冰淇淋,巧克力和曲奇饼。

  Let me introduce you to one of the desserts we often make in Zhanjiang, cookies! There are a variety of cookies we enjoy eating. If we buy them in the supermarket we will sometimes buy Oreo’s I will tell you a secret though, Oreo's taste different in Canada than they do in China! In Canada they are much sweeter and have more filling!

  现在让我来告诉大家,在湛江我们时常制作的甜品——曲奇饼!因为我们喜欢吃各种各样的曲奇饼,我们有时候会在超市买现场的曲奇饼,特别是Oreo’s牌,悄悄告诉你们一个小秘密哦,在加拿大出售的Oreo’s牌曲奇饼和中国出售的口感是不同的哦。在加拿大,它们会甜很多而且有更多的夹心。

  If we are wanting a cookie that reminds us of home though, we will make chocolate chip cookies. It is not only the flavor that we like about the cookies, we also enjoy the process of making them! After mixing all of the ingredients together, we place them in the oven to bake.

  每当我们想念家乡,我们会自己做巧克力碎曲奇饼来缓解思乡之情。我们不仅仅爱吃,也很享受制作的过程。制作的步骤比较简单,只需要把有关的原材料混合搅拌,然后放进烤箱里面烤就好了。

  As they bake, the smell of sweet chocolate wafts throughout our house. During the 12 minutes needed for them to cook, our mouths water and we cannot wait for that first bite into the soft, melt-in-your-mouth cookie.

  随着烘焙的过程,巧克力的甜甜香味已经飘满整个房间。那12分钟烘焙过程生出的曲奇香味已经使得我们的口水流淌一地了,我们肯定是迫不及待的要把那松软的曲奇饼一大口的吃进嘴里,享受大快朵颐的美好时光。

  Once the cookies have finished baking, we take them out of the oven and let them cool for 2 minutes. It is now time for the long awaited event, the eating of the cookie!
  等到曲奇饼烘焙完成,我们需要把它们从烤箱中取出来,自然冷却2分钟。接下来的,当然是马上开吃啦。

  The warm chocolate from the cookie melts in our hands as we sink our teeth into this delicious treat. The wait is well worth it and it is just like we are sitting in Canada eating them. What is the best thing to enjoy with these cookies you ask? A big cup of coffee!

  温热的曲奇饼先透过我们的手掌变软,然后融化在我们的齿间。那一刻,之前的所有等待都是值得的,而且曲奇饼的口感完全和我们在加拿大吃的一模一样。如果您希望这美妙的时刻更加完美,您还可以配上一大杯咖啡。

  How do you make these cookies? Let me tell you.
  接下来,让我告诉大家,怎么制作加拿大式曲奇饼的。


  You will need the following ingredients:
  请你准备以下原材料:
  2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  2.25杯通用面粉
  1 teaspoon baking soda
  1茶匙小苏打
  1 teaspoon salt
  1茶匙盐
  1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
  1杯(2块)黄油,提前软化
  3/4 cup granulated sugar
  0.75杯砂糖
  3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  0.75杯包装红糖
  1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  1茶匙香草精
  2 large eggs
  2个大鸡蛋
  2 cups Chocolate Chips
  2杯巧克力碎片


  After you have these ingredients, follow these directions:
  请你准备这些原材料,然后按照以下步骤制作曲奇饼:

  Preheat oven to 375° F.
  把烤箱预热至华氏度375度(中国烤箱是191摄氏度)

  Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy.

  用一个小碗把面粉,苏打和盐混合并且充分搅拌。把融化的黄油,砂糖,红糖和香草精放在一个大碗里面彻底混合搅拌直至呈现奶油状。

  Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
  分两次把彻底搅拌好的鸡蛋添加进上面的奶油状物体里面。添加的鸡蛋时候,注意要慢慢的把面粉混合均匀,同时放入巧克力碎片等。最后,把碗里的奶油状物体用圆形汤匙放在未抹油的锡纸上面。


  Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

  烘焙时间大约需要9-11分钟(或者曲奇饼呈现金黄色)。注意,在打开烤箱的时候,切记要先等两分钟才能把烘焙的架子上取下来(否则很烫!),然后把曲奇饼取出来,自然冷却即可食用。
